      Cincon announced the latest update to our AC-DC product line last week: the PDF700B-CMFD/D-P models, an upgraded version to the PDF700S-CMFC/D/D-P models. With significantly improved EMI performance, it’s designed for high-end applications.

 

      The PDF700S series has long been praised for its high-capacity features, including superior power density, high efficiency, a wide operating temperature range, and built-in PFC. Encased in a compact, fully enclosed full-brick design, it saves space and is ideal for fanless device designs. It supports baseplate cooling or can accommodate a heatsink depending on output requirements.

 

      In response to frequent requests for models suitable for EMI Class B applications, Cincon has introduced this upgrade with chassis-mount design to meet market demand.

 

Complete solution with CMFD/D-P

      The PDF700S series, initially introduced as a brick-type module, advanced with the launch of the PDF700S-CMFC/D/D-P models, which incorporated a chassis-mount design (CMFD/D-P) and additional features. Last week, Cincon unveiled the latest upgrade: the PDF700B-CMFD/D-P models. These enhanced models deliver improved EMI performance, fully compliant with EN 55032 Class B and MIL-STD-461 standards.

 

      For 700W power applications, the PDF700B-CMFD/D-P models offer a reliable, EMI-compliant solution that simplifies integration and addresses compatibility challenges. With integrated EMI filter circuits in the chassis-mount design, these models provide a comprehensive, plug-and-play power solution.

 

      Users can rely on these models to meet EMI requirements, including EN 55032 Class B and CE101, CE102, and RE101 of MIL-STD-461, ensuring no concerns about conducted or radiated electromagnetic emissions. To highlight the improvements, a comparison between the original PDF700S280-CMFD and the new PDF700B280-CMFD reveals significantly lower emission levels, demonstrating the advancements in EMI compliance and performance:

Features of PDF700B-CMFD/D-P models

      The PDF700B-CMFD/D-P power supplies are available with 90-264Vac/120-370Vdc input and outputs with 12, 24, 28, 48, and 56Vdc, available trim range from -5% to +5%(+1.8% for 56V output), with wide operating case temperature range, from -40°C to 95°C, beneficial for designs with conduction cooling. These models can also utilize Cincon’s optional heatsink for even higher power range’s heat dissipation and achieve great fanless thermal management operation. Suitable for applications where audible noise and vibrations are undesirable, or dusty/powdery environments where using a fan is unsuitable.

 

      The integrated CMFD/D-P solution features screw terminals, with power factor of 0.97 and efficiency up to 91.5% to minimize energy loss in transmission and heat dissipation. Additional functions include IOG status signal, remote on/off, remote sense (CMFD option) and the choice for parallel (CMFD-P option) with built in voltage droop for higher power requirements.
